Green technology, or green tech, refers to technology that is designed to improve the state of the environment and mitigate the negative effects of human society on the planet. This includes various fields such as circular economy, battery technology, hydrogen and electric car technology, carbon capture projects, and more. However, not all tech companies with green aspirations actually develop and produce green tech. Some notable green tech companies include Google X spin-off Malta, CCUS specialist Carbfix, geothermal energy company Eversource, hydrogen fuel cell developer Plus Power, Samsung SDI, and lab-grown meat company Mosa Meat. Green tech is expected to have a key role in combating climate change, but cost reduction and scalability remain major challenges for widespread adoption.
