Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has announced that from January 8, 2024, Nigerians will be able to apply and complete their passport application process online without human contact. Tunji-Ojo made this announcement during his inspection tour of Nigeria Immigration Service facilities on New Year’s Day. The aim of automating the passport application process is to reduce human contact and make the process more efficient.
Tunji-Ojo emphasized the need for this automation, stating that it will provide a better experience for Nigerian citizens and align with the vision of the President. He also mentioned that the training for the new system is already underway and will be ready for implementation on January 8.
