Vigilant Ops, an automation platform for generating, maintaining, and sharing Software Bill of Materials (SBOM), has raised $2 million in seed funding from DataTribe. The funding will be used to expand the capabilities of Vigilant Ops’ InSight platform across multiple critical infrastructure industries. Vigilant Ops performs continuous vulnerability monitoring and alerting, security patch notifications, and allows users to upload SBOMs from alternate sources. The platform helps software manufacturers meet development regulations related to cybersecurity and provides a system of record for software buyers to manage and mitigate vulnerabilities.

DataTribe, a cyber foundry that invests in and co-builds next-generation cybersecurity and data science companies, has made the investment in Vigilant Ops to support the automation of SBOM production. SBOMs are a key component of software security and are being highlighted by government policymakers and regulators as essential for creating a secure and resilient software ecosystem. Vigilant Ops aims to expand into industries such as energy, telecom, manufacturing, information technology, financial services, and communications.

Ken Zalevsky, CEO of Vigilant Ops, stated that the funding and support from DataTribe will enable the company to scale its technology and business development operations to address the cybersecurity challenges facing national and economic security. The platform aims to secure critical infrastructure products and enable innovative uses of new technologies and services.
